What is a workflow management system?
With the help of workflow management systems, the individual work steps of a process can be combined to form a sequence. The administrator defines who takes on which task with which means and information. At every step, employees are informed of a new task by email. As soon as this has been processed, the next step is triggered. The results are documented in a database so that, for example, issued permits or uploaded documents can be viewed by the administrator. Process progress and status are also available at any time.
