The project logistics experts at C.H. Robinson, Project Logistics Alliance member representing Canada and the USA, recently assisted a global customer with transporting two process vessels, one tank, and associated pieces from Shanghai, China to Savannah, Georgia, USA.
The pieces were loaded onto mafi trailers, including the largest piece which measured 22.5 x 3.67 x 3.78 meters (L x W x H). Once each piece was securely fastened, the mafis were towed into the vessel's hold and secured in place to ensure cargo didn’t shift during the ocean voyage. The vessel arrived safely at the Port of Savannah in the U.S. eight weeks later. The cargo was then unloaded and continued its journey to the destination, 425 kilometers away.
In total, C.H. Robinson's logistics experts helped safely transport 84.75 metric tons and 645 cubic meters of cargo to the customer's site. Good job!
