Altius S.A., a member of the Project Logistics Alliance representing Spain, Argentina, and Bolivia, recently completed the transport of five catamaran molds. The cargo weighed over 30 tons in total, and its dimensions presented challenges during the operation. However, team Altius was prepared with innovative solutions that ensured the shipment's success.

The five catamaran molds were transported from Antalya, Turkey, to a shipyard in Alicante, Spain. During the planning and engineering stage, Altius’s responsibilities included providing the Maritime Authority with a stability study of the pontoon and a towing study based on an official tugboat. These steps helped overcome the extreme draft restrictions for accessing the shipyard. Both towing trips were completed on the same day, ensuring an efficient delivery.

Due to the dimensions of the catamaran molds, road transport from the commercial port to the shipyard for two of the molds was not feasible. Altius proposed a solution using a non-self-propelled modular pontoon, avoiding the need to split the units.
This operation highlights Altius's ability to offer innovative and efficient solutions to overcome logistical challenges. Congratulations to team Altius from all of us at the Project Logistics Alliance!
