Collectively, for the logistics industry, the past two years have been full of lessons, the most important being the ability to grow and diversify in the face of challenges. At Alexander Global Logistics, they have been on a path to achieve similar goals. On the 1st of November, Alexander Global Logistics (AGL) became an owner of a warehouse situated in the German port city of Bremerhaven. This warehouse in Bremerhaven is in immediate proximity to the container terminal (900 meters) and caters to its broad set of clients across the globe and especially in North America.

With a total area of 90,000 sqm (970,000 sqm) and covered storage of 35,000 sqm (38,000sqf), this large warehouse has the ability to hold up to 2000 containers. The warehouse is equipped with twelve forklifts, two reach stackers and numerous special equipment such as Bale clamps and roll clamps to meet the client’s needs. Moreover, it also has a rail connection, which enables AGL to serve the hinterland destinations of our customers ins the most cost economical way, making it a truly efficient set-up. Although the warehouse is dedicated to the handling, transport, and value-added services for pulp and paper products, its range of services also allows for general and heavy cargo as well.

AGL’s CEO Carsten Hellmers states that ‘’…the warehouse has been a product of our commitment to growth in terms of vertical diversification, a long-term guarantee of advocating functioning supply chains, especially in the present market that behaves in a volatile manner”. Adding to Mr. Hellmers point, Monique Geisler, Vice President of AGL notes that “…in such times, the stability brought in through AGL’s own warehouse is a strategic move which also adds to our ever-growing profile”. AGL’s crowning jewel, the new warehouse, is not just a testament to AGL’s rising capabilities but also a symbol of accomplishment in these years of challenges.
