Logistics Plus, Project Logistics Alliance members in China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey recently enlisted help from fellow German member Alexander Global Logistics to deliver 73.5 tons of steel pipes. The tight capacity at container shipping companies has drastically impacted the ability of forwarders to deliver on schedule worldwide.

Originally these steel pipes were to be shipped to Saudi Arabia by sea freight in 40’ Open Top containers. However, the next ship on schedule would have arrived in Jeddah too late due to a lack of bookable capacity. The client then opted for air freight at short notice. The unpacked steel pipes which were lying in the Port of Hamburg were then dried and packed in special corrosion protect boxes in 4 working days. Once packed, the cargo was transported to Liege in Belgium via trucks from where they were flown to Jeddah on three B747 Noseloaders.

This shipment was possible only due to the smooth coordination and flexibility of Alexander Global Logistics and Logistics Plus, which ensured that the construction site in Saudi Arabia could meet the deadline and continue work without any delays.
Very well-done team Alexander Global Logistics and Logistics Plus. We wish you many more successful shipments!
