Hareket Heavy Lifting & Project Transportation Co., our member from Uzbekistan, is delighted to share a project they completed in 2018 about their operations in the Turakurgan Combined Cycle Plant Project undertaken by Çalık Enerji. The project is an Uzbekistan Ministry of Energy (Uzbekenergo) investment and one of the most important projects in Uzbekistan.

In addition to the 225-ton transformer, the heaviest load produced for this project consisted of 42 pieces of machinery with a total weight of 7408 tons if only heavy parts were considered.
The Turakurgan Combined Cycle Power Plant Project is located in the state of Namangan, 280 kilometres east of the capital city of Tashkent. The power plant has a total of 900 MW installed capacity, and it consists of two blocks (2 + 2 configuration), each with 450 MW installed power.

The challenging part of the project was that the Hareket Team could not use the Kamchik Tunnel, Uzbekistan, which is the only standard road connecting to Namangan State, due to the height of the cargo. Therefore, transport operations were completed by going around the mountain. Nevertheless, Hareket successfully delivered 3591 tons of freight and covered 2500 kilometres in August 2018.
In addition to ensuring a stable supply of electric power, introducing state-of-the-art equipment has helped reduce environmental impact by increasing power generation efficiency and decreasing CO2 emissions.

On behalf of the PLA members, we would like to congratulate the Hareket Team for successfully completing this project despite all the difficulties.
