Gianti Logistics, representing Georgia in the Project Logistics Alliance, has successfully completed the transportation of two Turbines to Mingecevir, Azerbaijan. These steam turbine Generators, measuring 10.9 x 5.5 x 5.0 meters and weighing 241 and 320 tons respectively, are crucial components of a thermal power plant.
The transportation of such heavy cargo necessitated the use of a multi-axle hydraulic modular trailer. Gianti Logistics, from the port of Baku, provided comprehensive services including road surveying, generating optimal transport drawings and configurations, required road modifications with detailed engineering and conducting risk assessments. They further facilitated the acquisition of necessary permits, developed 2/3D computer simulations for critical turns, and securely lashed the cargo. Civil work was also undertaken, alongside the utilization of hydraulic gantry cranes during discharge.
The client's specific requirements, such as stability calculations, potential road modifications, and obstacle removal, were meticulously addressed, stressing Gianti Logistics' commitment to delivering dependable solutions. Challenges encountered included height and weight restrictions, navigating road modifications, identifying alternative routes, and constructing bypasses.
