FLS Projects Thailand Completes Successful Acrylic Panel Shipment to Luxury Resort in the Bahamas

FLS Projects Thailand, part of the FLS Group, representing Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore in the Project Logistics Alliance, has recently completed a major shipment of acrylic panels. The panels were delivered to a luxury resort in the Bahamas, where they replaced older acrylic structures forming the pool facade with a view of the marina. These new panels, stretching the entire length of the balconies, offer guests breathtaking views of the marina and ocean.

The primary challenge was ensuring the safe transportation of the fragile cargo, especially during the critical phase between picking up the panels from the factory and loading them onto the vessel. Due to the port’s limited experience in handling breakbulk cargo, meticulous planning was required to safeguard the operation. FLS took a hands-on approach by involving the port operators in every step of the process, providing detailed planning, technical guidance, and ongoing advice to guarantee the cargo's safety. From offering information to making key decisions, FLS worked closely with the port team to mitigate risks. The cargo was successfully loaded onto the vessel using a container crane, following a carefully designed lifting plan provided by the factory, which had been shared with the port in advance to ensure smooth operations.
Another challenge that arose was the instability in the shipping market since the early 2024, which was affected by tensions and conflicts in key regions like Panama and the Red Sea. Due to this, the client had to assess various shipping options to ensure the safest route for the cargo. Under CIF Miami terms, FLS presented two potential options:

After careful consideration, the client opted for the second solution. FLS utilized its global network and extensive experience to manage the process, ensuring that the cargo was safely and efficiently delivered as planned.
