The breakbulk movement of the 72 large pipes, which had a combined weight of 3,400 metric tons and a total freight volume of 6,100 cubic meters (CBM), required thorough planning. The shipment was divided into two strategic lots to ensure safety, efficiency, and timely handling and delivery of the heavy and large cargo. Additionally, EXG's breakbulk desk ensured that the loading operations were not only safe but also conducted with precision.
Through this project, EXG demonstrated its operational agility, which allowed for optimized resource management and risk mitigation. The company's operations team coordinated the cargo loading onto breakbulk vessels, ensuring safety protocols to prevent any damage or delays. By maintaining a high standard of planning and on-the-ground execution, the team kept the workflow steady throughout.

As part of the project, the EXG team provided smooth customs clearance and port handling services within the dedicated time window. Additionally, careful resource allocation prevented any disruptions and minimized downtime at ports. This commitment demonstrated by the EXG team guaranteed client satisfaction.
The project faced three main challenges:
1. Uncertainty at the port of discharge: Due to a period of unrest at the port of discharge during the second lot's transportation, the project dealt with an uncertain environment. The EXG team monitored the situation closely and adjusted the routes strategically to mitigate the risks.
2. Adverse weather conditions: During the inland transportation phase, heavy rain posed a significant challenge. The EXG team relied on detailed weather forecasts to choose the optimal timing for vehicle movements, ensuring that operations proceeded during more favourable conditions. The team's attention to detail during unpredictable weather scenarios helped avoid delays.
3. Civil work: EXG carried out minor civil work during the transit, demonstrating a proactive approach and ensuring smooth passage of the cargo. This work involved filling potholes along the route, which prevented potential disruptions and guaranteed that the heavy vehicles transporting the pipes could move safely.
