Express Global Logistics Overcomes Logistical Challenges to Deliver Oversized Cargo with Precision and Expertise

Express Global Logistics (EXG), representing India in the Project Logistics Alliance, recently transported a total of18 packages for one of its esteemed clients, showcasing its expertise in handling complex cargo. The transport posed several challenges, primarily related to road conditions and infrastructure, but Team EXG successfully provided effective solutions, completing the journey without incident.

The consignment included two cold boxes, each weighing an impressive 232.5 metric tons, underscoring the need for precise logistical planning and execution. The dimensions of the boxes were 62.7 meters in length, 6.56 meters in width, and 6.6 meters in height. The cargo also included a heat exchanger along with other key components.
The journey spanned a significant distance from Hazira Port in Gujarat, India, to the designated site, requiring meticulous planning and preparation to overcome the obstacles encountered during shipment.
EXG goes beyond mere transportation, tackling on-ground challenges with ingenuity and precision. For this project, the team followed several crucial steps to ensure the safe and smooth passage of the oversized packages, including:
EXG preemptively addressed road conditions by filling potholes, ensuring a smooth and damage-free transit for the heavy cargo.
To accommodate the cargo's dimensions, EXG worked with local authorities to temporarily dismantle electrical wiring, camera poles, and navigation boards. This cooperation ensured the safety of both the infrastructure and the cargo. Once the cargo passed, all dismantled elements were swiftly reinstalled to minimize disruptions.
Due to the significant length of the cargo, navigating tight curves was a challenge. To prevent potential damage, EXG’s team dismantled road dividers along the route, rebuilding them immediately after the cargo cleared the area to restore normal traffic flow.
