In the first week of August, Action Agenciamento De Cargas (Action Cargo), which represents Brazil in the Project Logistics Alliance, concluded a first-of-its-kind ilmenite (iron titanate) cargo as an ex-work export operation.
The 12.000 tons of cargo originated in the city of São Francisco de Itabapoana, upstate Rio de Janeiro to China as the final destination. Action Cargo was responsible for the logistics structure, including the loader, weight machine, inland haulage, samples analysis (material and moisture certification), inspection, storage, and port operation.

The never-seen-before-at-the-port operation was conducted in partnership with Port of Açu/Multicargo Terminal due to the relationship and proximity to the shipper's premises, providing costs down by 30% compared to other players. Such price differences were essential to establishing this ilmenite export operation as a new storage area was developed to meet this logistical operation's requirements.

After shipping 12.000 tons of new cargo, Açu may become Action's partner in other operations, totalling around 100 thousand tons of ilmenite shipped. This type of cargo, usually transported in bulk, is an essential input for several industries and is widely used in pigments, metal alloys, and the protection of blast furnace linings. With this shipment, Action Cargo re-affirms its capacity to handle any cargo independently of size, volume, and characteristics.
