After almost a year-long of preparation, the second Project Logistics Alliance annual meeting took place in the bustling city of Saigon. While the Project Logistics Alliance was a long way from home, 82 participants representing 70 different companies from all over the world gathered together for the four-day event, to network while experiencing the joys of warm weather and good food.
With a pleasant welcoming gala dinner on the 2nd of September, the event took off. The first full day included speeches from our CEO Mr. Alexander Hellmers, as well as the representatives of our sponsors from Fleet Line, C.H. Robinson, and FLS Asia. From there on, heated discussions evolving around case studies and one-on-one meetings were rolled out. A total of 28 meetings slots took place during the whole event, and we were delighted to see the enthusiasm everyone demonstrated.
A special dinner at The Deck Saigon sponsored by Titan on the second evening set the platform for our annual awards for the most active members of 2018. We thank all members who took the time to vote, and also would like to congratulate the winners once more. It is our mission as a network to provide the best platform for networking with fellow professionals, but this will not be possible without the engagement of our members. Last but not least, an event in Saigon would not be complete without a cruise down the river. Thanks to the sponsoring by SAL Heavylift, our members enjoyed a memorable dinner cruise at the Bonsai Boat.
Looking back at the event, it seemed to have finished all in a whirlwind. From the PL-Alliance office, it felt like preparing for a marathon months in advance and all of a sudden the run was over, and it seemed surreal what was accomplished. The network has grown so much since the last annual meeting in Antwerp, and while ups and downs happen every day, we look back with pride at each milestone, and also at each member and partner who made this possible. Now with a somewhat sentimental optimism, we look forward to what the future brings, and hope that we will make the PL-Alliance better than ever in the upcoming times.
With much gratitude to all members and partners, from the Project Logistics Alliance HQ in Bremen.
